Per preguntar quina data és avui: What date is it?
I la manera de contestar té la següent estructura: (mes) the (dia ordinal):
- 1 de gener: January the first. També es pot dir the first of January.
- 15 d'agost: August the fifteenth. També es pot dir the fifteenth of August.
- 31 de desembre: December the thirty-first. També es pot dir the thirty-first of December.
COM ESCRIURE LES DATES. En la forma escrita s'omet l'article the:
- 1 de gener de 1969: January 1st 1969 / January 1st 69 / Jan. 1st 69 / Jan.1.69 /
- 15 d'agost: August 15th
- 31 de desembre: December 31st
Però quan les dates s'escriuen totalment en xifres:
- UK: 20.7.69 / 20/7/69
- US: 7.20.69 / 7/20/69
